STEVEN CHANDLER CONFIRMS FULL SEASON COOPER ATTACK

Steven Chandler has confirmed plans to contest a full season in the 2024 Vertu MINI CHALLENGE Trophy on the back of a one-off outing last year.

Chandler joined the Cooper grid for the season finale at Brands Hatch with his own Chandler Motorsport team, scoring three solid top 20 finishes on his first race outing in the car.

On the back of that appearance, Chandler admitted he was keen to try and secure the backing to take in a full season in 2024 and will now take his place on the grid as part of what is set to be an enlarged entry from the Chandler Motorsport squad.

Last season, the team campaigned two full-time entries in its debut season for Rhys Hurd and Reece Lycett, with Hurd securing the Rookie Cup title and an overall race win at Silverstone.

“I feel that the time is right for me to go for a full season this year in the MINI CHALLENGE,” Chandler, who last contested a full season of racing in JSCC back in 2018, said. “After a successful debut at the last round last year, I feel like I can truly attack at the sharp end and be a championship contender for 2024.

“I will be pursuing the championship with my multiple championship-winning team Chandler Motorsport, and I feel like we have the perfect recipe to challenge for another this year! I can’t wait to get going and whilst there’s still a lot of work to happen behind the scenes, I’m putting in 110% to ensure I have the best chance possible!

“I have to thank the team and also Munihire for their support, and if anyone else wants to get involved, then I’d love to speak to them.”
