SAM WELLER JOINS SNETTERTON GRID

The reigning Vertu Motors MINI CHALLENGE champion will return to the series this weekend at Snetterton after Sam Weller confirmed that he will contest his home event.

Weller secured the title in fine style last season following a year long dice with Alex Denning, Jack Mitchell and Ronan Pearson – scoring four wins and an impressive twelve podiums from 20 starts.

Such was his consistency that Weller never finished lower than sixth all season, enabling him to wrap up the title during the season finale at Brands Hatch.

So far in 2023, Weller has been working in a coaching role with his Hybrid Tune team but will get back behind the wheel for the latest three rounds of the season this weekend.

The 31-year-old will line-up alongside Will Orton and Joe Tanner in a slimmed-down three-car entry, with Ryan Faulconbridge not in action this weekend and Sam Smith continuing his recovery from the incident he suffered at Donington Park during the opening rounds of the season.

Whilst Weller will hope to be in the mix for silverware over the course of the weekend, he will not be eligible to score championship points as a guest entry.
