JUNIOR SALOONS CHAMPION MAXIMUS HALL STEPS UP TO COOPER CLASS

Reigning Junior Saloon Car Championship title winner Maximus Hall will make the move into the Vertu Motors MINI CHALLENGE Trophy this season.

The 16-year-old enjoyed a stunning debut in car racing last year on the back of a successful career in karting, taking the JSCC title in fine style with an impressive ten race wins.

The Motorsport UK Academy driver – who also won the Peter Collins Trophy for most promising newcomer at the annual British Automobile Racing Club Awards – heads into 2023 looking to try and build on that success having agreed terms to stick with the same Westbourne Motorsport team that was behind his programme last year.

Like Hall, the team will be appearing in the MINI CHALLENGE for the first time, having spent recent seasons competing in a wide range of championships, including Britcar and the Renault Clio Cup.

“It feels great to finally be able to announce that I’ll be stepping up to the Vertu Motors MINI CHALLENGE Trophy with Westbourne Motorsport for this season,” the teenager said.

“Last year was simply incredible; to step up to the Junior Saloon Car Championship and win the title at the first attempt was beyond my wildest dreams. Westbourne were amazing and it feels right to embark on this next step with them – it means we can maintain the momentum we have!

“I’m under no illusions that this will be a big jump up but I’m more than confident we can have a good season. I’m going to take it one round at a time, soak up as much as I can behind the wheel and see what we results we can go after.

“I’ve got to say a big thank you to the whole team, my family and loyal sponsors – without them this wouldn’t be possible. I can’t wait to get to Brands Hatch now!”
