NELSON KING REMAINS ‘CHILLED OUT’ AHEAD OF FINALE

Nelson King insists he will adopt the same approach he has taken all season when he bids to wrap up the Quaife MINI CHALLENGE title at Brands Hatch.

King has been the man to beat in the Cooper class all season after a stunning campaign that has seen him score nine wins in 16 starts, whilst the Graves Motorsport driver has only failed to finish on the podium three times.

Although he failed to take victory last time out at Donington Park, King finished on the podium twice either side of a fifth place finish in race two.

It means the teenager takes a sizeable lead over Matt Hammond into his home event, where he could wrap up the title in the first of three races if results go his way.

“I could have wrapped the title up at Donington Park but I tried to be level headed about the weekend,” he said.

“There was one point in race three where I did get a bit excited and went three wide for the lead, but overall we scored solid points to retain a good buffer to take to Brands Hatch.

“There will be a lot of people coming to Brands to support me given it’s my home meeting, and I’ll be doing my best to seal the title. I’ll adopt the same approach I’ve taken all season, and will be the same chilled out Nelson I usually am.”
