JOE WIGGIN TARGETS WINNING END AT BRANDS HATCH

Joe Wiggin says he is keen to build on his Donington Park victory when the Quaife MINI CHALLENGE Trophy heads for Brands Hatch this weekend for the season finale.

Wiggin maintained his impressive run of form in the penultimate meeting of the campaign last time out as he took his Pantera Carpentry-backed car to a first win of the season.

Alongside that, Wiggin scored a fine podium finish in the opening race and extended his run of top six finishes to six – and his record of top ten finishes to twelve races dating all the way back to Thruxton in May.

That run of results means Wiggin sits sixth in the standings heading into his home weekend and although a top four championship finish remains possible, he insisted there was one goal in his mind.

“Donington was a great weekend and to get a podium finish and a win was great,” the PerformanceTek Racing man said. “We were strong in the wet but our pace in the dry wasn’t quite as good so to end the weekend with a top five was good and it maintained our record of top six finishes, which is credit to the team and to Pantera Carpentry.

“We were able to take points out of the guys ahead in the standings which is the most important thing, and I’m really looking for now getting out on track at Brands Hatch – where hopefully it will pour down again!

“I’m not really thinking about the championship as I’m not in the battle for title, and although I’ll try my best to grab fourth in the championship, my main goal is to go out there and win.”
