CALLUM NEWSHAM RETURNS TO JCWS FOR THIRD SEASON

20 year old Callum Newsham returns to the MINI CHALLENGE JCW Championship for a third season this year.

The Father and Son team have a lot of racing experience between them. Dave retired from the British Touring Car Championship to focus on his son’s racing career and now in their third year in the MINI CHALLENGE, the pair hope for some excellent results.

I am excited to get the 2020 season underway and continue to build on the progress we made last year. The grid this season seems to be very competitive, however I am confident in my ability and sure I can be up there fighting for the podium places.
I still have my dad and number one mechanic by my side to help me improve my driving even further than we did last year.

We will once again be running out of the LDR team, I will continue to run the car myself with the fabulous support from the guys at LDR. I prefer to have a hands-on role within the team. I am also enjoying completing the winter rebuild of the car myself this off season too.
Callum is gaining experience with every race, and so am I in learning how to run the car. This will be our third season in the JCW Championship, and we should both be in very good shape to do a solid job. Callum finished P23 in year one, P8 in year two. I’m trying not to get carried away with our goals for 2020, but clearly, I am delighted with our rate of improvement.
I am also looking forward to being back in the TOCA paddock, I haven’t been back there since my final BTCC race in 2017, so it will be great to catch up with my old friends in the paddock.”

The JCW Championship returns to Donington Park on the 28th and 29th March for the first round.
