Role: Motorsport Parts & Operations Assistant
Salary Range: £30-£35k
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and begin or advance your career in a professional race-paddock environment. During the week, you’ll be based at our facilities in Eye, Suffolk, running our parts operations for our MINI CHALLENGE teams in multiple championships. You’ll also join the MINI CHALLENGE Championships on race weekends, travelling to events and providing trackside parts operations.
Summary of key responsibilities:
- Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and sponsors involved in the MINI CHALLENGE race series.
- Monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and ensuring timely replenishment of all parts.
- Processing customer parts orders, including invoicing, fulfilment, and after-sales support.
- Carrying out administrative responsibilities such as stock inventory management, booking deliveries, handling payments, and updating price lists.
- Preparing for events by ensuring stock accuracy and coordinating the loading of vehicles and equipment.
- Managing sales enquiries—both by phone and in person—relating to MINI CHALLENGE products and services.
- Attending UK race meetings (approximately 14 weekends per year) to support trackside parts sales and customer service.
- Undertaking additional tasks as required by management and/or partners.
Summary of key skills:
- Strong knowledge of car components, ideally within motorsport environments.
- Confident working independently and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, time-critical setting.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong IT literacy, including competent use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Mail, and general computer systems.
- Understanding of automotive parts and stock-related processes.
- Full UK driving licence (essential) and willingness to obtain an HGV Class 1 licence and CPC qualification following a successful probation period.
- Ability and availability to attend and work across full race weekends throughout the season.
- Experience with accounting software, stock management systems (e.g., Vend), face-to-face customer service, and/or sales is advantageous but not essential.
Salary dependant on experience.
Hours of Work:
Monday–Friday 8.30am-5.30pm as well as all Championship Race Weekends circa. 14 a year and any special events relating to the championship.
