TEAMSPORT KARTING, EXCELR8 TEAM UP TO OFFER FUNDED MINI CHALLENGE TROPHY DRIVE

EXCELR8 has joined forces with team partner TeamSport Karting to launch a new competition offering a funded drive in the 2027 Mairon Motorsport MINI CHALLENGE Trophy.

Launched at Thruxton during the fourth meeting of the season for the Cooper class, the new competition – dubbed FastTrack powered by EXCELR8 – will be open to anyone over the age of 17 who doesn’t hold an ARDS, Kart National A or Kart International A or B race racing licence.

The first of five stages in the competition will take place at one of a selected number of TeamSport Karting venues across the UK with entrants gradually whittled down until the finalists get behind the wheel of an EXCELR8-run MINI CHALLENGE Trophy car to determine the winner.

That lucky person will secure a funded drive in the Cooper class next season worth up to £100,000 which includes use of a TeamSport FastTrack-branded car, team support, entry fees, consumables, insurance and damage allowance.

The prize will also provide the winner with the MSA Go Racing Pack required to launch their racing career, whilst they will also be put through their ARDS test to secure the required licence.

“FastTrack is an amazing opportunity for someone to race in one of the most competitive championships in the UK, and to be part of the support package for the BTCC,” James Hislop, Head of Membership at TeamSport Karting, said.

“There is a lot of hidden talent amongst those drivers who race at TeamSport Karting venues across the UK, and one of those people will get the chance to live their dream through this competition.”

EXCELR8 is running a four-car programme in the Mairon Motorsport MINI CHALLENGE Trophy this season for Ashley Gregory, Gio Santora, Jorrell Julius and Adam Curtis and has scored multiple titles across the various MINI CHALLENGE classes.

“FastTrack powered by EXCELR8 will help us unearth someone who has the potential to make it as a racing driver and isn’t just focused on outright speed but also looks at everything else that is required to be successful on track and off track,” team owner Justina Williams said.
