CTS MOTORSPORT MAKES MINI CHALLENGE MOVE
CTS Motorsport will make its debut in the MINI CHALLENGE in 2026, and will take up the role of running the development car that features in the headline JCW class.
The team has previously shown itself to be a frontrunner in both Ginetta and Caterham championships over the past decade, including last season when it carried Ben Wheatley to the Caterham Motorsport 270 R title.
For the new season, the team will embark on a fresh challenge with its most high-profile programme to date, which will see it competing on the high-profile BTCC support package.
Working hand-in-hand with the series, CTS Motorsport will be responsible for operating the development car that debuted in the JCW class last season, having initially run in JCW Sport back in 2024.
The car will be available on an arrive and drive basis for each of the seven events on the calendar this season, which starts at Donington Park next month.
The team will work alongside the championship to offer a special subsidised rate that includes entry fee, team fees, car rental, awning space, fuel, consumables and tyres.
The likes of Steven Chandler, Brent Bowie, Harvey Riby, Hannah Chapman and Roan Lundy have all competed in the development car in recent seasons.

Jon Curry said: “We’re delighted to be joining the MINI CHALLENGE grid for 2026 and are looking forward to working closely with the championship in running the development car in the JCW class over the coming season.
“Having spent the last ten years building a team that has already enjoyed considerable success, this opportunity was one we were never going to turn down. We are excited to make our first foray onto the BTCC support package, and to work with drivers and partners over the coming months.
“After a fantastic media day at Croft, the whole team can’t wait for round one at Donington Park next month.”
Rhea Beauchamp, MINI CHALLENGE championship co-ordinator said: “We’re delighted to welcome CTS Motorsport to the series this season to run the development car that has been a feature of the line-up in recent years.
“Although they are a new addition to the grid this year, the team brings a wealth of experience running championship-winning programmes over the past ten years and we look forward to seeing them build on that success as part of the MINI CHALLENGE.”
