ANTONY SULLIVAN SET FOR FULL MINI CHALLENGE CAMPAIGN WITH DEBUTANTS SBR MOTORSPORT
SBR Motorsport has confirmed that it will make its debut in the MINI CHALLENGE this season with a single-car entry into the JCW class for Antony Sullivan.
Sullivan will embark on his first full season in the series having contested two events in 2024, scoring a best finish of twelfth at Croft in a car backed by Repsol before returning to the grid for the season finale on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.
Those two outings were both geared towards trying to secure a place on the grid for a full season assault on the highly-competitive series, with a deal being struck with SBR Motorsport that will now see Sullivan take his place on the grid for the 2026 campaign.
Sullivan, who will be backed by his Broadheath Recovery Services business, has spent recent months hard at work testing in his new car ahead of the upcoming season launch event at Croft, and the season opener at Donington Park.
“I’m really excited to be joining the MINI CHALLENGE grid for the 2026 season with SBR Motorsport,” he said. “Being part of the TOCA package is something I’ve been aiming for. It’s a fantastic platform to race on, with the crowds and the atmosphere that comes with it all – I’m hoping to enjoy all of this with my family.
“Winter testing has gone really well and I’m feeling increasingly confident in the car. I’m really looking forward to getting out on track and starting the season.”
SBR Motorsport joins the MINI CHALLENGE grid having spent recent seasons competing in a range of championships including the Fiesta ST150 Challenge, where it was a front-runner last year with Max Buxton before his mid-season move up to the BTCC.
The team also ran Sullivan in a JCW-spec MINI in the CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Car Championship.
“We are looking forward to the season getting started,” team owner Sam Beckett said. “It is our debut in the MINI CHALLENGE and on the TOCA paddock as a team, so this is an exciting step for us.
“We are beyond happy to be running and supporting Antony. We’ve worked with him in various championships over the years, so we are delighted and proud to see him take this next step. It’s going to be an exciting season.”
