Alex Solley will return to the Quaife MINI CHALLENGE Trophy for a second season in 2022 after signing up to join Graves Motorsport’s multi-car line-up.

Solley – who turned 18 at the weekend – secured his first pole position and maiden race win at Thruxton last season en-route to ninth in the championship standings having been one of only two drivers to finish every race over the course of the campaign.

The teenager will seek to build on that in his Graduate season in the Cooper class, with hopes high of a strong showing on track.

“I can’t wait to get the season started and see what I can achieve under the Graves name,” he said. “Whilst I secured my first win last year, and finished every race, the season was a huge learning cure.

“Graves have well and truly shown the passion and commitment I want in a team and will help to build on the experience I gained last year. With the support of my loyal sponsors, this season is shaping up to be my best yet.”

Solley will race with support from MAC Aviation, Plane Audits, Up & Away Aviation Detailing, Guardian Jet, Synergy Aviation, RPM Aviation, HWFS and Signum Aviation, in what will be only his fourth season in cars having previously competed in Junior Saloons.

“Alex is a great addition to our team,” team manager David Graves added. “He drove under our banner at points in 2021 which allowed us to see the dedication the he puts into his racing.

“Given his track record, we are sure he will be a genuine contender for wins, podiums and ultimately the championship in 2022.”
