BTCC TEST UP FOR GRABS FOR FASTEST MINI RACERS

The fastest MINI CHALLENGE racers will again be rewarded with a fully funded British Touring Car Championship test, courtesy of Dunlop and Motorbase Performance.

The champions from both the top-flight JCW class and feeder Cooper Pro category will win a test in one of the Team Shredded Wheat Ford Focus racers – as driven in the BTCC this year by Tom Chilton and Ollie Jackson.

The tests will take place at Snetterton on November 12, with each winner getting technical support and advice on the day from the team.

On current form, it’ll be a tight-run thing between JCW title contenders James Gornall, Nathan Harrison and Dan Zelos, who are set to fight it out in a three-way finale at Snetterton on October 19/20.

Things are similarly tight in the Cooper Pro category, as Robbie Dalgliesh narrowly leads Toby Goodman, with four races of the year remaining.

MINI CHALLENGE Promoter Antony Williams said: “It’s fantastic to renew our BTCC test prize with both Dunlop and Motorbase Performance. It’s always good to give drivers something extra to fight for and the MINI CHALLENGE has positioned itself as a prime feeder category to the BTCC – even more so when the JCWs will feature full-time on the support bill across the 2020 season, with the Coopers also joining the show for select rounds. This test is a great chance for our drivers to get a first-hand taste of the BTCC.
