TEAM DYNAMICS RETURN TO THE MINI JCW CHALLENGE WITH GS BATTERY

GS Yuasa Battery Sales UK Ltd are pleased to announce that their GS battery brand will sponsor Henry and Will Neal in the 2018 MINI CHALLENGE JCW Championship.

GS Yuasa have recently launched a new GS automotive range, which has been designed to meet the demanding needs of the ever-evolving modern car parc. The range has been simplified to three tiers, GS SMF conventional, EFB and AGM Start-Stop, each providing superior performance and excellent value, creating the finest automotive battery range.

Will & Henry both learned their trade north of the border in the Scottish Legends Car Championship, before progressing to the Cooper Class of the MINI CHALLENGE UK.
The MINI CHALLENGE is the pinnacle of MINI racing, the 2litre 265BHP turbo-charged engine offers drivers the ideal proving ground to progress into the highly competitive world of Touring Cars. With sequential gearboxes, slick tyres and huge brakes – they’re the closest relation to the BTCC of any one-make championship.

James Hylton – Commercial Director at GS Yuasa Battery Sales UK added “This is a great partnership for us, the GS Battery brand is relatively new to the UK and we needed a platform on which to promote that brand, the connection with Team Dynamics is obviously very strong from our British Touring Car commitments and we know they can produce quick, class- winning cars.
The launch of our new GS automotive range has been a resounding success. With a simplified three-tier structure, the OE quality automotive range offers the best possible performance and value for our customers whilst providing excellent coverage of the European vehicle parc. We are excited to expand our GS promotional activity into Motorsport sponsorship, so we’re really looking forward to the year and wish Will and Henry a successful season.

The campaign is a family affair, with Triple-BTCC Champion Matt Neal being able to offer more in-depth parental guidance than most. “We’re really excited to be back with MINI CHALLENGE for the third year and with GS Battery. The Championship has grown considerably over the time we have been involved and no wonder why, it’s door to door, really close one make racing! The racing is affordable, competitive – and believe me those cars are fast! I help them where I can, but ultimately they’re here to learn – and the best way to do that is by being out on track.”

Henry is contesting his third season in the JCW Class, keen to replicate his first win at Oulton Park last year. “Getting my maiden victory last year was awesome, it was great to pay back the team for all their hard work. I’m going into this year understanding the car an awful low better than last year, my confidence and race craft is improving – so hopefully it won’t be too long before I’m on the top step again,” Henry said.
Will is looking to improve on his career-best finish of 5th in the class, which he scored at the same round as Henry’s victory. Will commented “Henry and I were joking earlier, that we’re both absolutely itching to get out in the cars again – the off season is way too long if you ask me! I’m keen to keep progressing and learning and with the help of my dad and Henry try and improve on last year’s positions and bag myself a podium or two. One things for certain no one’s going to miss us out on track with the new livery are they?!”
