Stu Lane returns to the MINI CHALLENGE this season in the Cooper S class with AReeve Motorsport.
Last year Lane competed in one round at Silverstone, but collected a race victory and a second place from the three outings that weekend. This year Lane has high hopes for some good results.
“Last season was a bit of a year out to give me time to focus on my media support with drivers and the MINI CHALLENGE, but this year I’m going to find time to come racing,” said Lane.
“I’m really looking forward to racing in the new Cooper S Class,” he added. “It’s a revised version of the Open class, but we’re now running slick tyres and the cars are controlled by a power-to-weight ratio.
“This nicely sandwiches us between the slower Cooper Pros and the JCWs. Aaron [Reeve] has built me a new car for the season and I can’t wait for Donington to see how the new car performs.”
The Cooper S class join the other Cooper classes at Donington Park on the 14-15th April.
“I’m planning to compete in five out of the seven rounds, which means I won’t be able to push for the championship but I’m hoping for good number of podiums.”
Lane joined the MINI CHALLENGE in 2016 and quickly proved his abilities. At his first round he took pole and a race win, but later that year a collision at Oulton Park meant injury put him out for the remainder of the season.
